Southwest Airlines
Chase Credit Card

OK, Southwest Airlines is not for everyone. It seems to work for my wife, Barbara, and myself. For Domestic Flights we just need to get from Point A to Point B and don't need Business or First Class, or even extra legroom. Most of our flights are between Portland and Southern California which can be as short as 2 hours and 15 minutes, or a bit longer in the air if we have to make a stop or change planes.

We put almost all our spending on our Chase Southwest Airlines credit card which earns us enough points to almost never have to pay for a domestic flight. Just from our credit card purchases we earn a "Companion Pass" every year that allows Barbara to fly free everywhere that I fly (just paying $5.60 for airport fees and taxes per flight).

If you think a Chase Southwest Airlines credit card might work for you, click on the below link to explore some options:

They say you will get 50,000 points if you spend $1,000 on the card in the first 3 months. A lot of flights are less than 6,000 points (such as our one way between Portland and Southern California or Southern California to Las Vegas. That could be 7 free one-way flights!).

Anyway, Southwest keeps sending me emails requesting me to refer friends. As I said, Southwest Airlines is not the right travel fit for everyone. But if you think this credit card might work for you, and you don't already have one, click on the above link to explore your options. Thanks!
